Utah’s Derek Setzer, illustrates a doorway into a depth we didn’t know existed in ink. Setzer takes the meticulous process of stippling with small lines and transcends it to new heights. Doorways open through depths of delicately placed dots and swerved lines, which are all orchestrated with every pin stroke. The work is an excellent example of the exploration of negative and positive space. Dereks process seems like that of which only a monk or high priest could conjure but with the amount of work already completed, he is truly a stippling machine.
