The brilliant and captivating Berlin based artist Evelyn Bencicova is on a mission to strip humans of their consciousness by aesthetically presenting them in equivalence to building blocks of flesh. The cold human forms are at times surrounded by abstract landscapes or other species but most the time they become the landscapes themselves. The united sculptures of flesh give way to a new sense of “oneness” within our own species. Cold and muted hues wash over all her photographs and aid in a somewhat disturbing or calming viewer experience. You feel cold , like a marble sculpture, when looking at choreographed human waves that mirror your own form. Although the objective may be to turn our limbs into units of construction, the photographs really shed new light on the possibilities of what it means to be human.
