Blair’s illustrations exude an expressionist take on contemporary high fashion, they give off feelings of freedom, spontaneity and form whimsical stars in every viewer’s eyes. Largely influenced by high fashion photography, Blair takes these fashion forward photos into a whole new realm of layered watercolors and messy smudged lines. Featuring luxury designers in most of her illustrations like Mcqueen, Louis Vuitton and Prada, Blair transforms their designs into a personalized expression of them, almost as a response piece. She explains how she found her process of art making on her site, ” After spending time abroad studying art in Florence and sketching my travels I continued to draw using portable materials such as watercolors, small sketchbooks, and pen. I make a point not to use an eraser in order to capture the spontaneity of my ideas.” Blair’s bright colors, bold lines and imaginative perspective really draws the viewer into this new, abstract and chic world and we love it.
