This week, the Association of International Photography Art Dealers (AIPAD) is celebrating 35 years of their incredible photography show. The show will exhibit more than 80 of the world’s leading photography galleries at the beautiful Park Avenue Armory. The fair will open Wednesday April 15th for a special preview. The run of the show is from Thursday April 16th until Sunday April 19th. For more details or how to purchase tickets, please visit AIPAD’s website.
AIPAD is an organization that began in 1979 in order to push the highest of standards of exhibiting, buying and selling photography as art. The Association has become a unifying force in the field of photography with members located all over the world, including the United States, Australia, Canada, Europe and Japan.
As most people know, art fairs can get pretty busy and overwhelming. If you’re looking to beat the crowds and really engage with some stunning photography (the photos from last year are gorgeous), try to visit Thursday or Friday during the day since most people will still be at work. Can’t make it during the week? Check ’em out over the weekend but try to get there when the show opens (11am). Then get your brunch and Bloody Mary action on; there will surely be some wonderful photographs to chat about and maybe you will even find the means to purchase something for your yourself (yes, treat yourself).
