As a time honored tradition, the Pirelli Calendar has been published through the years since 1964. It has featured so many legendary beautiful women over the years with a blend of haute fashion and sensuality. Creating portraits it’s not the only thing; it’s a capture of the essence and the power of the women body. Each year has collaboration amongst industry legends such as Richard Avedon, Helmut Newton or Peter Lindbergh showcasing the most beautiful women in the world. 12 images taken by an insanely talented photographer that turns out to be, more than a logbook, a piece of art. At the beginning “The Cal” aspired to be a sign of changing times, but was ten years later when Martyn Walsh, the new art director, inserts subliminal traces of tyres. After 50 years, it became an artistic publication with no limitations – except style and good taste. If the end result seems even more fashion forward than usual, it’s no accident. Let the images tell their own story while we just keep getting hotter.
