The Beat is set to drop in Atlanta this August as Iris Promotions has released the first phase of artist announcements for their Imagine Music Festival. Festival headliners so far include: Dadalife, DATSIK, The Glitch Mob, Chromeo, Griz, and Lil Jon. Two other artists on the bill that I am really keen on seeing are Shpongle and Zoogma. I caught Shpongle with Beats Antique in Asheville, N.C. last year and it was a fantastic show. Two of the headliners you do not want to miss are The Glitch Mob and Lil Jon.
The Glitch Mob out of Los Angeles have recently released a remix album of their last years album Love Death Immortality. The original Love Death Immortality reached number one on the Billboard Charts in 2014 in the Dance/Electronica category. The 2015 remix album features remixes by Bassnectar, Yaarrohs, and more. The Glitch Mob have added “The Blade” to their live show. “The Blade” is a visual part of the groups show and it was designed by Martin Phillips, the guy that designed the pyramid for Daft Punk. One viewer described The Blade as leaving “me with an existential afterglow for days…” Hopefully The Glitch Mob break out “The Blade” for their show, either way their show is bound to be a blast.
Lil Jon, The King of Crunk, probably most famous for “Turn Down for What” is set to perform at The Imagine Music Festival. Lil Jon has been busy Dj’ing, producing hits, and collaborating with artists like Miley Cyrus. And he also recently gave a lecture at Oxford University. Although he may be making the rounds at universities I still expect him to put on an entertaining show.
The Imagine Music Festival happens August 29-30 at the Masquerade Park and the Historic Fourth Ward Park in Atlanta, Georgia. There is still another round of artists to be announced.
