Under the pier in Manhattan Beach.
One of my favorite shots from the trip and my first picture of California.
Driving to a cabin in the mountains of Julian, we stopped along the way to dip our toes in the sand and watch the sunset.
This shot was taken at the top of the hills in the Palisades near Santa Monica, CA.
The sky was a bright pink and had this brushed out look to it,
as though it had been painted.
We drove to PALM SPRINGS for the weekend because I had never been there.
Upon arriving we saw this mural was just starting to be painted.
At first the wall was completely white, but throughout the weekend we watched the painter work, and this mural come to life.
The aftermath of a long day in the sun.
Hermosa Beach quickly became one of my favorite places to be.
I began going there with my film camera and photographing the waves from the top of the pier.
This photo was taken by this secret spot where I love to watch the sunset.
It’s near the Griffith Park Merry Go Round.
This was taken while hiking at the top of GRIFFITH PARK,
where the trees have this aura of something out of a Tim Burton movie.
The last frame on my last roll of film from the road trip.
On our way to BIG SUR, the end of one road trip and the beginning of another.
