Crystal Castles might have a new lead vocalist, but their sound is no reinvention at all, something we are very ok with. “Deicide” is yet another complex tune that can be enjoyed as a club house banger in the darkest corner of the EDM world, or as a melodic soundtrack to your train of thoughts while driving home on a lonesome night.
Last we’ve heard from the band was when they attempted to throw shade towards previous member Alice Glass with their single “Frail”, yet with the High pitched vocals layered gently over the cascade of drum and base lines in “Deicide” we can sense that Glass’ legacy is somehow being imitated. We can only hope to hear Glass’ embark on her own projects the way Crystal Castles is.
