Lorena Alvarado was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela— a city of extreme contrasts and contradictions, more absurd and surreal than any magic realist novel. She discovered her love for analogue photography as a teenager. Since then she has utilized it as a means to record memories and to capture the weird beautiful enigmas around her and her life. Along with model Xaolynn Lee, Alvarado had the idea for a photography series that tries to portray a person as painting themselves and becoming a part of their artwork. She wanted to blend brushstrokes with the body of a woman, for the shapes and colors to become one in the same. As you can see she succeeded and the end result is just amazing!
