Eighteen year old painter and photographer Marissa Alper is currently an art student at the Virginia Commonwealth University and shoots every chance she gets. With some of her greatest inspirations for photography being Petra Collins and Ash Thayer, she uses her friends and environment around her to fuel her creativity and inspiration in her work. Currently her work consists of documenting her and her friends teenage years, but she seeks to also capture the contradictions of youth through film photography – the energy and mystery of new, ephemeral relationships, coupled with the lethargy of adolescence and the devotion we all, young and old alike, desire.
