Where did the last 10yrs of our lives go? I remember it as if it was yesterday; when every day the first and last thing I saw on tv was a video of Missy Eliott. The whole world stopped every time Missy dropped a video. During those days when Eminem and Ludacris were making careers out of the shock factor, beefing with the world and often taking the cheap route. Missy Eliott’s shock factor was all about the sound production, the aesthetics of vivid colors, her game-changing crumping dance moves and all that crazy street style galore.
Each video was a contagious invitation to the world to loosen up and enjoy that freaking beat. Regardless of your age, social status, race or size, you will always feel represented by the female rapper who often featured a very diverse group of people in her music films.
I don’t know about you, but I jumped so high off my seat when I read the link. The new visuals are stunning as ever, dressed as a human disco ball in some kind of underground tunnel. You just have to watch and relive your younger years.
