We are not sure what force brought together this collaboration between Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Sean Salomon and Adult Swim. But whoever linked these guys up, wherever you are… we thank you. The music video for UMO’s single “Necessary Evil” is a deconstructive love story told beautifully by two animated lovers who together experience the highs and the lows of a self destructive, never ending relationship. Directed by LA based artist Sean Salomon, the video premiered in Adult Swim last week, for the likes of the existential questioning and mind altering animated series like “Adventure Time” and “Bravest Warriors”
“An abstract love story about two characters whose insecurities and paranoia eventually drive them apart.” Sean Salomon stated in a press release.
The song just like the video, showcase a cynical tone where drugs and sex are the common link between the sickness of these two lovers who metaphors in and out of each others bodies in very unconventionally sexual ways.
