Julia SH, was born in Stockholm, Sweden and was bald until she was 2 years old. Despite earning a BA in Fine Art from Central Saint Martin’s College and Design and an MFA in the same major from Slade School of Fine Art in London, she still dreams of stuffing a pillow with David Hasselhoff’s chest hair.
Julia possesses all the kinds of narcissistic traits that would have you deported from Sweden, but are welcomed with open arms in USA. Hence, she moved to Los Angeles in 2008, where she currently lives and misbehaves with her two parrots.
Working as a film editor in LA under a fictitious Japanese name for 2 years, she eventually transitioned into photography and digital retouching where she could play and talk people into doing strange things for no money.
When she does not post and reply to questionable craigslist ads or learn about the lives of parasites, she collaborates with creatives across the field in trying to push fine art photography into a new realm. She submitted this series entitled “Shapeshifter” she shot featuring model Michaela Bookout with makeup by Cherry Skulls.
