CRUSHING HEARTS WITH THE CHAINSMOKERS {EVENTS \ FESTIVALS \ NEW MUSIC FRIDAYS}

CHAINSMOKERS 17

Romance was in the air, it was the Valentines weekend and romance was literally in the air. With a giant heart light installation hanging from the stage of CRUSH Fest. It was a night of romance, ‘Roses’ by Chainsmokers was obviously the anthem of the show. Yet artist like Slander, NGHTMRE and Lost Kings did not fall behind, every set was different from the other. They all celebrated each other and celebrated the diversity in the room.

Remix masters, Lost Kings kicked things up with a very hyperactive, feel-good house heavy set that had the room shaking. After their success with ‘BAD’ and the many sick remixes in their SoundCloud, Lost Kings were a very pleasant surprise. A very well executed set with the right attitude to back it up. Got a chance to catch up with the guys backstage before their late night show. Check out the sick polaroids.

NGHTMRE followed with some heavy Trap banger sounds that had us feel a type of way. From mixing some Travis Scoot to sampling some old school Hip-Hop with the heavy dubstep, NGHTMRE’s set was the waviest. Just listen to his newest track ‘Get Back’ and you know exactly what I am talking about.

Slander was also killer, their set was more intense than I expected. The duo always finds the right medium to incorporate haunting vocals into their melodies but still give their melodies a deep house / hard style feel. Their set was absolutely fire, their transitions were  fluid and constant. It kept us interested through out their entire set.
