AM DeBrincat is a Brooklyn-based visual artist, writer, and curator. He creates multimedia works on canvas that combine spray paint, xerox transfer printing, acrylic, and oil paint. DeBrincat recently completed residencies at MASS MoCA, The Wassaic Project, and Chashama. Originally from San Francisco, California, DeBrincat received a BA in Spanish and English Literature from the University of Oregon, and attended Parsons the New School for Design on a Graduate Dean’s Scholarship, graduating with an MFA in 2012. His artwork explores the composite nature of identity and information in an online world – He is interested in how we construct identities for ourselves online, especially through advertising and social media.
