New on our radar, Bloodboy, the music genius of artist Lexie Papilion from San Clemente, CA. Her songs are crosscurrents of propulsive electro-rock and post-punk defiance with smartly crafted lyrics articulated through attitude and edge in a rich, lustrous voice.
Her first single, “Human Female“, produced by Justin L. Raisen (Charli XCX, Sky Ferreira, Ariel Pink), was released on March 29th and has since taken the blogosphere by storm being called “One of the best songs of 2016” – making her one of the new artists to watch. Premiering on Spotify’s ‘New Music Friday’ playlist on April 22, the single is now over 192,000 streams.
