Bon Jane is an American-born artist who received her BFA from The Rietveld Academie in The Netherlands in 2007. Her first photo book Americana Girl was released in September 2016 during Printed Matters’ Art Book Fair at PS1 MoMA. Jane’s love of the holy is paired with her love of the obscure. Cults have always fascinated her because of their mystery and often-tragic endings. Coyote Sun Cult Revival is her first celebration since returning to the desert – of seeking, ceremony, beauty, and rebirth.

The desert is my spirit animal,” she says, “When I met her I felt like I had come home.” Jane is referring to her first time in Marfa, Texas and her love affair to follow. “I was visiting my guy who was with Animal Collective while they were recording their next album at some amazing little pecan tree ranch in the middle of nowhere, like – dust bowl, silent, stillness. I was wrestling with some demons, and fighting to keep my footing in what I knew I loved, which was art, so I went out… into the desert, alone… to find myself, and She listened and held me and didn’t judge or speak at all – her silence warmed me and encouraged me to keep going. Since then every visit with her is holy.
