Smoldering New York City songstress, Sophia Bastian has unveiled the sultry video for her new song, “Rhythm To My Heart” today, following its premiere on Interview Magazine. The song, a collaboration with UK producer Phil Simmonds is out TODAY. In the video, which is directed by rising director and fashion influencer, Sandra Winther, Bastian embodies a certain swagger, oozing sensuality as she dances against the simple yellow backdrop, radiating confidence as the music take over.
Sophia Bastian first broke out onto the scene back in 2012, with the independent release of her debut EP, Juvenile Blues, which was received international critical acclaim. Soon after, BBC tastemaker Gilles Peterson picked up on Bastian’s stunning revamp of Portishead’s “Gloryboxed,” Tweeting a link to her rendition before premiering it on his BBC Radio show, followed by the premiere of her first official music video for the song “Breaking” on mtvU.
An eight city UK tour and slot opening for The Roots already under her belt, there are plans under way to drop her sophomore EP this summer.
