Have you ever really sit down and think for a minute, what is it like to be a dummy? a mannequin? a doll that people use for all kinds of purpose, only pretending to be something that you know you cannot ever be. I mean have you ever really think about shit like that? Well if you have, you are not the only one super-producer duo Cut Chemist took care of that doubt for you in their music video for “Madman”, a disturbing yet fascinating compilation of dummies videos being put through all kinds of shit.
Described by Cut Chemist as “a hypnotizing collaboration between myself and French electronic pioneer Vox Populi!” the “Madman” video showcases a series of clips put together by found footage video artist Tom Fitzgerald and pushes a sense of whimsical hysteria down the spine of viewers. He continues, stating, “its dark…yet the time signature changes give it a sense of playfulness.”
Their new EP ‘Die Cut’ will be released in early 2018 with appearances by Deantoni Parks (The Mars Volta), Biz Markie, actress Erika Christensen (Parenthood), tune-yards, Farmer Dave Scher, Dexter Story, and more, serves as a natural progression from his now classic 2006 debut, which received praise from A.V. Club, Entertainment Weekly, and a rare perfect score from Alternative Press.
