Daniela Muttini is a photographer from Lima, Peru now living in Madrid. She is currently figuring out a way to live in a city so far away from the ocean without falling into complete insanity.
“The Flower in your Dustbin” is about bringing out the color, insanity and vibrancy of your inner world and using it as a beacon in a dreary landscape of everyday reality. A direct reference to a Sex Pistols lyric in “God Save the Queen” (“we are the flowers in your dustbin”), this shoot attempts to capture the spirit and attitude of rebellion against the plainness of normality, except that through this photo-shoot we do it through the over top color and over indulgent, almost childlike accessorizing, rather than the dark, ripped, angrier style of original aesthetic of the punk movement. Both are a reaction against a plain, ordinary background, an attempt to show an inner spark of life in a numb world.
