SLIP – INDIA D’SCARLETT {EXCLUSIVE EDITORIAL/NSFW}

India d’Scarlett is a photographic artist from Cairns, Australia. Her photographic process involves manual manipulation, which results in abstract, painterly portraits that explore concepts of female sexuality, foreignness and the female form in relation to nature. d’Scarlett received a BFA in Photography with High Distinction from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and in 2016, she was the recipient of the Kalman Fietel Photography Award. Her recent work has been exhibited throughout Melbourne and will be shown in Canada at The Sussex Contemporary in February 2018 and at the SPAO Centre in fall 2018. She is currently living and working as an international, Artist-in-Residence at the SPAO centre in Canada.

“Bodily Exploration, Bodily Reclamation. ‘Slip’ is the discovery of my physical form, it’s strengths and limitations, it’s curves and it’s lines. Having recently started working with self-portraiture, I am now visualizing my own multiplicity – sexual, non-sexual, dominant, submissive, wild, tame, vulnerable, strong, lost and found.
