Alba Vitta, and I am a nomadic photographer from Barcelona. The model featured in this series is Kike Arnaiz, a friend and fellow photographer from Burgos. This series of photos was created from an urge to express the vibrancy and visceral connection to all life that we humans feel, when we are free in nature. These photographs were taken on a mysterious volcanic island in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.
“In a special moment just before the sunset, a slow rain falls from the cloudy sky, and the fresh humid smell of plants and damp earth rises from beneath our feet. We stand in the middle of a dense fairy tale forest, populated by a multitude of massive trees, strewn with volcanic rocks, gently draping ferns, and carpeted with thick mosses interwoven by intricate paths. We feel that we need to show ourselves to this forest as we came into the world, without shame, and vulnerable to the new world. Pale skin stands out starkly from the green undergrowth. Pure existence, witnesses to nature.
