“Little Baby” is a song written by The
Blue Rondos and Joe Meek. They
come from a time which Daisy Glaze
harkens back to. Shot exclusively on
8mm, and directed by Kristin
Gallegos, the video follows Alix
through scenes of downtown New
York in an amorphous yet familiar era.
Much like the lyrics to the song, it is
at once playful and melancholy,
solitary but with the universal
nostalgia for an old flame that has
long since ebbed away.
Daisy Glaze merges the talents of two acclaimed New York musicians who have gained attention from various groups including, HITS, Angry Angles and the Golden Triangle. The band is the creation of songwriter Louis Epstein (Guitar/Vocals), who teamed up with Alix Brown (Bass/Vocals) in 2017 to form a band influenced by the widescreen soundscapes of Ennio Morricone, the production genius of Jack NItzche, and the orchestral soundtracks of John Barry. The group has expanded to include a 5- piece line up gaining a reputation as a great live band playing NYC venues alongside artists such as The Black Lips, The Coathangers, Curtis Harding and other emerging local artists. Their 60’s influenced cinematic songs blend the classic boy/girl vocals reminiscent of the swampy psychedelia of Lee Hazelwood and Nancy Sinatra,or
something you might hear in a Quentin Tarantino Soundtrack. Daisy Glaze recently finished their first LP, recorded and produced by Sonic Boom (MGMT, Beach House, Panda Bear) the lead single “Ray of Light” is available on all digital platforms.
