Charlie XCX and Troye Sivan are out with her new music video for ‘1999’ today and it hits all the right notes, not to mention nineties references. They embody every hot moment of the year 1999 with pop culture references to the Spice Girls, TLC’s Left Eye and Steve Jobs while Sivan appears as Justin Timberlake, Backstreet Boys and Eminem. When together on screen, they take on The Matrix, Titanic, the Sims and the infamous Rose McGowan/Marilyn Manson red carpet appearance.
We just spent a evening with the pop star on our #OUTLOUD series curated by Manuel Frayre, our Music Editor, and her energy is on another level which makes her music undeniably good.
