‘Back For More‘ is the newest single and music video by music artist Ted Jasper! The music video was directed by film-maker, Charlie Stopford, and the clip was filmed in Jasper’s hometown of Cornwall – it splices seaside shots with stills of the dramatic cliffside using stop-motion editing to add effects to the rolling waves. “It was super inspiring to work off the flow and energy of Ted’s track,” says Stopford. “It’s always a fun challenge to create moving textures to compliment a vibe and drive the visual momentum of a video.”
Jasper, who married lyrics to his music for the first time with ‘Back For More’, found inspiration for the track via cult flick, ‘Rounders’. “There’s a little cutaway where a seedy man is lusting after a woman in a club, trying to seduce her,” says Jasper. “She feigns attraction and tricks him, in a really crazy turn of events, down an alleyway. A strange source of inspiration, but I became hooked on the idea of this nasty guy following after this woman not knowing his own fate.”
Speaking about the creation of the video, Stopford says: “It was super inspiring to work off the flow and energy of Ted’s track. It’s always a fun challenge to create moving textures to compliment a vibe and drive the visual momentum of a video. Planning out individual photo frames of stop motion which will eventually marry up with the bpm of a song is incredibly satisfying work when it finally comes together.”
Jasper’s compelling network of downtempo house, hip-hop and jazz has secured previous tips from the likes of Jamz Supernova – who released a smattering of his earlier material via her Future Bounce label, including the ‘One Day’ EP – Giles Peterson (6Music), Phil Taggart (Radio 1) and Laurent Garnier (Boiler Room). Alongside his own material, the London-based artist has previously remixed and worked alongside established names from the world of electronic music, including the likes Robert Owens – part of Chicago’s Fingers Inc. – and Berlin-based Daniel Haaksman.
