As a photographer in this project, Ksenia Ryzhkova wanted to explore a naked body – and the attitude of ourselves and others towards it. Forget about sexual undertones, beauty standards, and clothes – just your body as it is.
“I’d like to show people how they really are – in a way that’s getting more and more of a taboo subject: social media ban even classical photography if it contains naked body parts; the beauty industry and advertising make us feel uncomfortable about our own bodies. I stand for different values – freedom, harmony, acceptance. I’d like to show a naked person in their natural environment, just as we are every day at home, with our routine and work. I want to see just a body itself, with all its beauty and freedom, I want to show the person through their pure nature, not their fancy outfits. I see naked body as a part of personality. How: I’m going to shoot naked people in their homes. People don’t have to pose or do anything special, just their daily home routine or work. Where: My plan is to expand this project worldwide, and I’m starting with my favorite Berlin.”
