Artist, Kris Huang has been running Weekend Life Drawing Class-SAALab with her partner in Taiwan for more than 3 years. They believe that body is one of the most important art themes, and it gives artists creative inspiration for art. They always try to combine the ideas of theatre and modern dance, installation, Renaissance painting or contemporary photography in their class.
“We are making an attempt to push the boundaries of the traditional life drawing class, exploring the possibilities of the way people create artwork with human figure in this present age. Recently, I started to do nude photography and would like to share my interpretation of human body to you. One thing stands out in the process of my shooting is that sex and gender are not emphasized in my outcome. While the sexuality is vague, I focus on the shape and lights, the idea that represents a body as an object displayed in an ordinary place. The human body is the most beautiful natural sculpture in the world. And I am glad to collaborate with the fashion model Coca Huang in this project.”
