“Wearing clothing is a predominantly human characteristic resulting from functional needs, such as protection from the effects of the elements and cold temperatures (after body hair loss and migration to cold regions). The amount of clothing worn depends on functional considerations, such as the need for warmth, and also social circumstances. In some situations, the minimum amount of clothing or lack of it may be considered socially acceptable, while in others it may be assumed to wear more clothing.
