‘SCARLETT’ A NEW VISUAL STORY BY ‘ROBERT ADLER’ {NSFW/EXCLUSIVE EDITORIAL}

Photographer Robert Adler and model Scarlett Kapella teamed up for today’s exclusive NAKID feature editorial titled, ‘Scarlett‘.

Robert was in Los Angeles recently with his friend, the great fetish photographer, Eric Kroll.  While there he was introduced to a model by the name, Scarlett, who works as a dancer at Jumbo’s Clown Room. Often short-handed to Jumbo’s, it’s a “bikini bar” located on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles, California.

Robert Adler developed an interest in photography at a young age, putting together his own makeshift darkroom at just 11 years old. He studied at Temple University in Philadelphia and soon after graduating began working as a freelance photojournalist. In the early 1970’s Adler began his famous series centered on the Trocadero Burlesque Theater. The series goes behind the scenes of burlesque,
capturing the theater and dancers as they prep, preform and then shed their stage costumes. The theater itself was a relic of vaudeville, and the dancers were used to a life traveling from theater to theater to make ends meet. Together, the images from Adler’s series develop the story of the tough and lonely life of the theater and its performers. The series garnered Adler international acclaim and in 2003 several of the photographs were included in an exhibition at the Louvre.

I the 1990’s after moving to San Francisco, Robert continued his journey documenting the women who work in the sexual underground. He photographed the series Dungeon Goddesses featuring the women who worked as professional “Doms” and “Subs” in the San Francisco Area’s underground BDSM dungeons.

Both series can be viewed on Robert’s web site- http://www.robertadler.com

Robert’s work has been published in numerous publications and exhibited throughout the country and abroad. His work is also held in several public and private collections, including the permanent collection of The Philadelphia Museum of Art.
