Artist Raisa Saraiva created this amazing selfie nude series for today’s exclusive NAKID feature editorial titled, ‘QUARANTINE NUDES‘.
“In the beginning of this quarantine period I’ve made an open call on Instagram inviting people to send me “nudes”. These nudes would become drawings made by me with oil pastels then posted on my feed daily along the weeks. I’ve received lots of contributions and the project #NudesDeQuarentenA (#QuarantineNudes) has been kind of a success. It’s interesting to realize the status of reality in photographs and in drawings or paintings. We seem to deal with each kind of image in a very different way, as if handmade images still could be always closer to the fields of fiction than images made by cameras. The project also brings questions related to our performances of genre, desire, loneliness, sex, eroticism, pornography, intimacy and self love.”
Raisa Christina is a visual artist and poet born in Ceará, Brazil. She’s been working with drawing for many years. The human figure is present in her whole production. She wrote “os lábios os braços os livros” (nadifúndio, 2019), “mensagens enviadas enquanto você estava desconectado” (Editora Substânsia, 2014) and co-wrote “DANZA” with Nahuel Souto (nadifúndio, 2018). She has been presenting her work on individual and collective art exhibitions.
