Photographer Claudia Marin shot this self portrait series story for today’s exclusive NAKID feature editorial titled, ‘DREAMLAND‘. Claudia is a film photographer from Los Angeles who was born in London and moved to the USA at the age of 5 where she’s lived ever since. She studied at the Rhode Island School of Design, where she got her Bachelors in Fine Art, where she honed more than just her photo skills. There she pursued painting, design production, post-editing, film, directing, as well as photography in order to construct the fantasies in her mind she will create.
With her work, she really likes to explore the idea of dreams in contemporary society. Because we are exposed to a constant state of over-saturated visuals of bodies online, its really up to the artist to define how the body should be seen and presented.
“Figurative photography has the ability to make a statement to the world through the depiction of the person who is presented in front of you. I believe that with my work, I present women (and sometimes men) with autonomy over their bodies all while creating a setting a world of fantasy which they safely in habit.”
