Skrillex just dropped a brand new single, “Butterflies,” featuring Four Tet and Starrah. We’ve been at the edge of our seats since yesterday afternoon, when he announced the track on his Instagram. This has been his first non-cryptic social media activity in quite some time, and there’s good reason to believe that he’s beginning to shift into album mode.
This new song was entirely worth the wait for new original music from Skrill. With Four Tet on the bill, we had a feeling this one was going to lean into the house and techno world. It does, but also features Skrillex’s unmistakeable flair, center stage. Starrah also injects the perfect about of catchy R&B vibes into the track.
