TZAR, the fearless, LA-based singer-songwriter, originally from Moscow, Russia, is gearing up to release her debut EP First Time in Forever this September.
Although the lyrics reflect the realities of a difficult break-up, this dreamy, 80s synth-pop inspired record gives an upbeat feel that motivates you to keep pushing towards reaching the best version of yourself. TZAR speaks on her inspiration for this single:
“‘I’m OK’ came from a time where I was rediscovering what it meant to be on my own after a long term relationship fell apart. It started as a pure ‘I’m ready to move on, and I’m ok no matter what’ vibe, but it got deeper and spoke to all the emotions behind everything that was happening. It’s about when you feel completely abandoned and alone and all the contradictory feelings and the actual realities after losing someone you love.”
TZAR is a gifted singer-songwriter and classical pianist who immigrated to the Bay Area from Moscow, Russia at just 7-years old. TZAR then followed her dreams to Los Angeles and began featuring and writing songs with other artists such as KSHMR, Zed’s Dead, JOHN K, K. Flay, Promnite, Falcons, Hoodboi, and more. In 2019, after writing with the multi-platinum producer Djemba Djemba (prod. Sia, Madonna, Britney Spears, Justin Bieber), Djemba decided to executive produce her debut EP – much of which brings that 80’s sound fresh into 2021. “I’m OK” follows TZAR’s bold February release “Fuccboi Althem”, also taken from her debut forthcoming EP.
