French Parisian photographer Solene Ballesta who is based out of Tokyo and Japanese Burlesque performer Kily Shakley teamed up for today’s exclusive NAKID feature editorial titled, ‘Paris – Tokyo‘.
Solene has grown up with burlesque culture all around her, so much so it quickly became one of the most recurrent subjects in her work. So when Kily and Solene first met in Tokyo it made her very curious how the Japanese eye can adapt to this culture, pushing it to another level. They decided to have a portrait session at the crossing of Japanese and French traditions, hybridizing the codes to propose a new vision on Burlesque art.
