Parisian photographer VIRNA HAGEN shot this new self-portrait series for today’s exclusive NAKID feature editorial titled, ‘The dark gold of Tenerife’.
Virna Hagen is a french southern girl living in Paris. She’s a filmmaker, art director and photographer, and half of the Simona_Gun directors duo.
She says, “I get inspired by real people, suspended moments, crepuscular lights, women bodies and the carnal side of the skin. I shot this editorial in Tenerife, a incredible place with an oceanic climate, a dark sand and a spectacular light. I captured the skins under the sea spray, I confronted them with the black abrasive sand to bring out the organic facet of the bodies. I let the light and the precious moment do the rest.”
