Mixed-media collage artist SLip created this new series for today’s exclusive NAKID feature editorial titled, ‘Bacchanales Modernes‘.
This project, Bacchanales Modernes, was carried out to illustrate a musical project of the band Apple Jelly in reaction to the current end-of-cycle atmosphere. To illustrate the decadent and dreamlike moods of the new album, SLip transports characters from classical painting into a 21st-century end of completely, freeing themselves from the societal shackles and giving free rein to their most unavowed desires, evolving towards an ultimate orgiastic party.
Thanks to digital photomontages, the characters are decontextualized and projected in apocalyptic landscapes. For a final party, until the end of the world separates us…
