Sissionville, West Virginia-based photographer Rafael Barker and model Kaitlin Pickens teamed up for today’s exclusive NAKID feature editorial titled, ‘Bare Nature‘. Rafael lives in a small town twenty minutes outside of Charleston, WV, but he was born in Bogota, Colombia and adopted into a family of transplanted Appalachians — a father from Detroit and a mother from New York City. His photography business is focused on portraiture and he is most interested in making images of people with minimal retouching and a strong balance of light/shadow.
Rafael had this to say about the shoot:
“This concept was built off the idea of being one with Mother Earth. We made sure to have great composition and placement to showcase the beauty of the trees and nature. Feeling the vibration of the dirt, grounding, and feeling the warmth of nature were important aspects of this photoshoot.”
