Kyiv, Ukraine-based photographer Nastya Didenko created this amazing new artistic self-portrait series for today’s exclusive NAKID feature editorial titled, ‘Shelf Life‘.
The photo series consists of photos of the author. Having several years of experience as a photographer, the artist faced the problem of finding models for her own non-commercial projects during the lockdown. In this way, the author began to photograph herself, which in the process turned the project into a series of self-portraits that raises issues of self-objectification and corporeality. The artist formed the composition, lighting, and objects in the frame on the principle of subject photography, which enhances the feeling of still life, although with the presence of a person in the frame.
