Kyiv-based photographer Polina Laptii and model Maria teamed up for today’s exclusive NAKID feature editorial titled, ‘Body Language‘.
The story of this shoot began before the war started in Ukraine. Unfortunately, like many people Polina had all the plans spoiled and had to reschedule the shoot several times. When the pictures finally came together, Polina was convinced this was exactly what she had been thinking about for so long as far as the aesthetic.
This shoot is about body aesthetics, interaction with space and composition. Polina rethought a lot of things in her art during the war, and for her it’s like a breath of air in a new reality, a spiritual practice and meditation. Against this background, she wanted to create beautiful things, to share them with the world in spite of everyone. “The war is not over.“, she says.
