Vitesse X has a new album in the works for late 2023, the label she co-founded, “Music Website” is quickly becoming one of the hottest new labels representing the new wave of indie out of NYC and VICE recently listed her song ‘Us Ephemeral’ #1 on their 50 best tracks of 2022 list. The music video for “Right Now” captures raw intensity as Vitesse X enters the frigid 41°F Montauk, NY water in January. It was shot on a Sony VX2100 from the early ’00s and co-directed by Vitesse X.
Vitesse X has captivated her fanbase with ethereal sounds and blissful vocal melodies that transport you to a dimension both foreign and familiar. Proudly taking her seat at the intersection of modern rave and 90’s nostalgia, the NY-based producer and DJ is arriving at a new sonic frontier that is both wildly invigorating and emphatically seducing. Vitesse X first encountered the expansive possibilities of songwriting and performance after moving down to Virginia for college. Here, she found herself at the epicenter of a thriving music community and started playing guitar and bass in a variety of punk, shoegaze, and chillwave outfits. After one of her bands gained ground in the early 2010s, she began touring the US and Europe, eventually landing back in New York. Vitesse X began to shift her focus towards her solo pursuits, eventually becoming an in-demand name in the larger NY music scene as an audio engineer and DJ. When the world reached a standstill in 2020, it provided an opportunity to think about how to translate her technical finesse and love of dance music into something honest and pure. Her otherworldly sounds and evocative lyrics offer an answer: Vitesse X wants to help people connect, and then transcend. In 2022, she released her debut LP ‘Us Ephemeral’ (100% Electronica), the title track of which VICE listed #1 on their ’50 Best Songs of 2022′ list. Vitesse X is currently working on her sophomore album to be released on her new label, Music Website.
