Photographer Barry Barnes and model Sparky Champion teamed up for today’s exclusive NAKID feature editorial titled, ‘Pussy Whip‘.
Barry is a designer at heart and tells us he loves creating labels for the products he features in his photos. Once he even won three design awards for the props he makes, which is pretty amazing in its own right. He takes it to another level though with his photo work. In this new editorial, Barry and Sparky went all in on ‘fun’ as their theme. Barry designed specific labels for his whip cream in the shoot, marking his new brand as “Pussy Whip”, and even earned him a national packaging design award, but the magazine declined to publish his art in the final issue. So we’re doing what they should have, and blasting this to all our NAKID readers!
Based in Idaho, Barry Barnes works as an illustrator, designer, photographer, and printmaker through his company, Trained Eye Graphics. Barry has worked extensively with publishers, designing cover art and supporting collateral for a range of authors in multiple genres. His portfolio also features work for commercial consumer clients. Barry has exhibited in the US and Canada, including the Los Angeles Society of Illustrators’ annual Illustration West exhibit. His work can be found in the collections of the United States Air Force, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, and in magazines, professional directories and annuals, including Graphis Photography Annuals 2017 to 2023, Graphis Nudes 5 and Creativity 39.
