Canadian Photographer Dale Sood and model Aker teamed up for today’s exclusive NAKID feature editorial titled, ‘Exquisita Plantea‘.
The theme is botanical, with inspiration derived from the illustrated botanical books of the 17th century. Here, the beauty of Aker (model) and the plants are presented in parallel. The origins of makeup are as such, one derived from natural ingredients, and the connection to our tools of adornment has been lost over the centuries save for any evidence collected in anthropological journals. This editorial pays tribute to the connection of modern beauty’s connection to its organic origins.
Dale Sood is a Toronto-based cinematographer and director. Focusing primarily on fashion and beauty, photography remains his non-commercial artistic outlet. His work explores subjects around nostalgia, duality, and mysticism. His work has been featured in Harper’s Bazaar, Tatier, Martha Stewart Weddings, and several other notable fashion publications.
