India D’Scarlett, is a photographer based in Melbourne, Australia. She submitted her latest project she shot while she was visiting Los Angeles and tells us in her own words a little bit about it…
“On Feeling Foreign (Part II) explores my personal experience of otherness – a feeling I have experienced from moving around regularly throughout my life and traveling often. Experiencing anxiety and being hyper aware of the weirdness of being here, of existing at all adds to the feeling of otherness. At home in Australia, overseas surrounded by foreign languages, surrounded by strangers or with people with whom I am close it can be alienating, sometimes beautiful and often bizarre.“
