Nate Igor Smith, is a photographer but pretty much known by everyone as Igor. He went to school for photography and film, and he is obsessed with both. He has spent more than 10 years working in the music industry in one way or another and started taking photos in the mid 90’s in order to document the DC punk scene. He is currently living in Brooklyn. Nate submitted his shoot exclusively for us with model Aneta Magdaena at the Brooklyn hair salon Hello Beautiful in the middle of the day during business hours while customers and window shoppers witnessing the shoot, to promote his newest book project he is working on of Instax Polaroid film.
As far as the book he gives us a little intro about what inspired it.
“When I was 19 my girlfriend left town for a month and bought me a Polaroid camera and let me take naked photos of her so I would have something to think about while she was gone. It was a time before digital photography, Skype and sexting and I started shooting more of my friends and lovers nude on Polaroid. More than 15 years later I have made a career out of nude photography and this book is a return to my nascent sexuality and love of instant film.”
This book will feature more than 100 women shot on Instax Wide film over the last few years since Polaroid stopped making Instant film. The Kickstarter hit it’s goal in less than 6 hours of going live.
