Charleston, South Carolina Natives Heyrocco, have been rocking the music scene since they were in high school. The first time I saw this group, it was at the Pourhouse and they killed it! Even as high schoolers, they had the makings of a great rock band.
The band, who has since moved across the pond, recently recorded a new album and have begun touring around the U.K. and Europe. ‘Teenage Movie Soundtrack’ came out June 2, 2015 and definitely makes me feel nostalgic for those carefree high school days.
“Mom Jeans”, is a catchy tune about hanging out on a porch and drinking box wine. Alison, the lead singer croons “Why’d you have to bring up love, I was only having fun.” Santa Fe is also a catchy song that everyone can sing along to…as it is a “stupid love song”.
Teenage Movie Soundtrack has a grungy feel reminiscent of early R.E.M. Heyrocco is playing Shea Stadium in Brooklyn, New York June 6 and will be in the Carolina’s after that.
